Engineering Services

Cost-effective compliance with regulations requires a thorough knowledge of process engineering industrial hygiene and fluid mechanics. This knowledge includes the ability to evaluate manufacturing processes, the ability to recommend changes to the processes in order to avoid the need to comply with a regulation or to lower manufacturing costs. Sometimes, the engineering solution is as simple as recommending a replacement cleaning compound. Sometimes, the solution is as complex as reworking a plant´s heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and installing complex air pollution controls.

Mr. Lewis has recently completed a project for a western Massachusetts manufacturer that entailed the installation of over $1.2M of air pollution controls and associated ventilation systems. This project of which Mr. Lewis was project manager entailed coordinating the interface between material suppliers, construction contractors, the client´s safety and health department as well as the Massachusetts air pollution control agency. In addition to the engineering work, Mr. Lewis prepared and obtained all of the permits mandated by state law.

Mr. Lewis´ primary engineering expertise lies in the areas of process ventilation, air handling and the handling of moderately toxic manufacturing aids.
